Argo & Lehne has been so great to work with. We started with them in December 2009 when shopping for my engagement ring. The experience was so great, we went back to get our wedding bands from them. We paid a little more for those than we wanted, but the service and professionalism of their staff is so great and their products are high quality. We also wanted to patronize a local, family-owned business, and this was a perfect fit for us. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. If they don't have what you want, they work to get it as a sample, if the manufacturer permits this, so you can see an item in person before purchasing. They work to make you happy and get everything just as the client desires, as it should be.While we have worked with most of the staff, we have primarily worked with Julie Smetzer. Due to some sizing that was needed and some loose stones getting fixed in the months leading up to our wedding, we got to know Julie. We now walk through the door to a great smile and a greeting of "Hi Kids!" from her. Certainly, all of the staff is friendly and helpful too though. They do let the bride borrow and item from the store for the wedding when you purchase your wedding jewelry from them. They do mean anything - it is quite a perk!

I have been a customer of Argo & Lehne for DECADES - I used to tagalong with my mother when I was a kid when she would go there. This is a great old family owned business that gives you the personal service and the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are giving you a good value and are not going to mislead you or fix something the wrong way. The few times I have had a problem, they have fixed it with an apology. My bride mentioned hearing of jewelers pulling the ole’ switch-a-roo with diamonds and she said “I know that would never happen at Argo.” To which I replied “THAT’S WHY YOU GO TO ARGO!” We also bought my mother her mother-of-the-groom gift and she LOVED IT. They truly have pieces for every budget (we are on a budget!) I am always treated well at Argo & Lehne dispite the 19 year old car I might be driving or the surfer outfit I might be wearing. One day one of the employees said she’d have Mr. Argo get back to me on a jewelry matter I brought to them, and she said “… he will take good care of you” – I wanted to say “Argo & Lehne ALWAYS takes good care of me.”

My husband purchased my engagement ring and wedding band from Argo & Lehne - they are truly a family owned shop and offer exceptional service. We shopped for the engagement ring for months, and made many trips to Argo before making the final purchase. They were more than happy to order a customized setting for me, and were more than patient with our numerous questions and requests. We will definitely shop at Argo int he future, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a more personal experience - there is NO PRESSURE at this shop!

I'm reviewing mostly family-owned companies, I see. :) Perhaps that's because I received the best service from family businesses in preparing for my wedding, and Argo & Lehne was no exception. When my husband and I went to pick out our wedding rings, we met with Robert Argo, grandson of the founding Argo (Robert knew me by sight because he had gone to high school with my mom). We were treated with great respect and attention, something which had been lacking in some jewelers in the past, perhaps due to our being such a young couple. Bob helped us look at many options; he was patient, helpful, and very knowledgeable of his craft. When my husband selected a band made from Palladium, Bob easily rattled off a brief history of the metal, explaining what made it different than gold or platinum and answering every question we had. My rings were inspected, cleaned, and polished for free while we were there; my right-hand ring, an antique, had lost a stone previously. Upon my request, Bob had the other stone knocked out at no charge. The only reason I did not give A&L 5 stars across the board was a simple mix-up. We were able to get the insides of the bands engraved at no additional cost, but during "wedding week" my husband's band had been mislaid by the engraver when we came to pick them up! Fortunately -- we had been in this situation before with other jewelers, with less-than-satisfactory results -- Bob immediately responded to the problem, was very apologetic, and arranged for the ring to be hand-delivered right to my house. So there was a bit of a hiccup, but it could not have been handled better.Overall -- generations of excellent service, our rings were very competitively priced, and extras like milgraining the border of my band and engravings were complimentary. They do all repairs and services in-house, and they do their work very, very well. I highly recommend!
