Excellent! This salon offered to close for regular business on the day of my wedding just to serve my large wedding party and family (8 bridesmaids, mother, grandmother, cousins, aunt, and me) at no additional charge. They invited us to bring our own snacks and drinks, and we basically set up "Wedding HQ" in their salon from 12:30 to 4:00 on my wedding day. It was fun! The stylists were all polite, fun, engaging ladies who did their work well. It took two stylists an hour to curl my little sister's hair (she has enough thick, full hair for three people!)! Every girl looked unique and beautiful in their styles, and they styled my grandmother's hair with great sensitivity and care; she had been undergoing chemotherapy, but her hair had inexplicably started growing back in May, and so she had enough short hair to be styled for the wedding. Though she was initially self-conscious about going without her scarf, her stylist was extremely supportive and attentive. They also did manicures and pedicures for some of us, and that would be my single, small bone to pick with the whole operation. The manicurist did not know how to do French nails. Rather than simply inform us of that fact, she went ahead and tried to give me French nails on my hands and feet, and they really did not look good, which is kind of a big issue on one's wedding day. At least they weren't that noticeable, since she didn't even use the typical white for French, and instead used whitish nail polish! I would have been better off just asking for clear polish, since my nails were nice and long. She did a fine job with regular manicures, however. Other than that, though, everything was done very neatly and professionally. The five-star service was capped off by Dorothea, daughter of the founding owners, offering to stop by our church before the ceremony and touch up styles for anyone who needed it! She brought extra pins, hairspray, and curling irons and did a marvelous job. If you're looking for a hairstylist, go to Dorothea - definitely. And if you're like me, with lots of ladies needing service before your wedding, look no further than John of Holland!
