The Venue

Our reception was held in The Loft, and it was the most amazing experience. I worked with Molly for about 9 months on planning the details, and she was amazing through the entire process. She was one of the highlights of my wedding planning, and I will miss having her around!! We got all sorts of compliments on the food (Zuppa) and the location can't be beat. Molly really does a great job of working out a wedding day schedule with you, and helping you stick to it as much as possible. In every way my expectations were exceeded at The Loft at Smith Brothers, I can't recommend them highly enough!!!

Molly, rocks when it comes to assisting you with creating the reception of your dreams. As I came up with ideas and she gave her professional feed back on what has worked in the past when I had no clue as to what I should do. Their staff was super friendly, professional and FUN! The price, people, options and location is what has the Venue & Loft to be a perfect place for a ceremony and wedding reception hot spot. The bonus again was Molly's assistance and suggestions, whenever it was asked for. Lastly, I was also planning this wedding thousands of miles away and she was awesome at keeping in communication via email and phone conversations when ever I requested. I never once felt left wondering what was going on.

Gina and Molly from the Venue at Smith Brothers could not have been more gracious, professional and on point. The food from Zuppa was absolutely delicious. All of our guests could not stop talking about the Venue, the atmosphere, the service and how smooth everything went. I had not a care in the world at the reception as Molly took care of absolutely everything. I can not say enough great things about them. I highly, highly recommend The Venue and Molly and Gina. You will not be disappointed.

Here's the good - the location is great, unique and beautiful. The staff that works the event is amazing and take care of the smallest details. We used Zuppa Catering and the food was great, especially for the cost (we did Friday night ceremony/reception with appetizers). The bad - the communication and responsiveness is terrible! We also waited for replies to calls and emails from Steve and LaGina. Luckily everything went as planned, but it's very frustrating for a bride-to-be planning.

Steve Rayo is the contact for this venue and is the big downfall to the whole experience. It is hard to get a hold of him and takes a while for him to get back to you. I was very pleased with The Loft in its appearance, free parking, able to bring in your alcohol!!!! Cameron Mitchell was our caterer and took care of everything else. My consultant at Cameron Mitchell (Reilly) even took it upon herself to communicate with Steve for me, since it was frustrating me and that was amazing and very helpful.Overall I think The Loft at Smith Brothers was awesome but dealing with Steve not so much.

Columbus doesn't offer an array of unique venues. I had heard mixed reviews about this venue but decided to go with the location anyway because I knew the catering company I was working with would take care of me. Most emails and phone calls I made to try and book took weeks to get responses back. I actually even missed out on all dates I originally wanted because the response time took so long. After I had booked another venue the coordinator called me to say a cancellation happened and offered me the cancelled date which I took after some consideration. I was surprised to learn later their is an extra fee for use of the courtyard, the office building next door, and some of the outdoor lighting. They just tell you the initial cost of renting the facility and mention all the extras later. The venue did allow us to drop off items beforehand which was convenient. The wedding turned out fine, my caterer took care of us. I was lucky to get in when I could and I had a great wedding and our guests loved the location but it may not be the best choice for other brides in the future.

Gina was fabulous to work with. She listened to our wants and offered her opinions when asked. The food was fabulous!!

They were wonderful, professional, and attentive. I truly didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day. The venue is beautiful- I could not have asked for more.

We LOVED The Venue!! Gina was our representative and she was AWESOME!! She helped us with everything from layout to allowing us in early to set up to calming me down when I had a little "bride meltdown". She was the best! The Venue is a fantastic place for a wedding reception. With the big front porch overlooking downtown, guests were able to mingle with cocktails, lit with white lights hanging everywhere. The inside has exposed brick, which is fantastic and it's just a beautiful setting. There is a courtyard you can rent as well if you wanted to tent it or just have it as spill over space. You cannot go wrong with this space. Ideal for 150 guests, although we had 185 and it was just fine.

I loved the venue itself. The person setting up the reservations was hard to work with. She wasn't very flexible when it came to allowing us extra time to set up our decorations. Just didn't like her overall attitude. Luckily, she's only responsible for the initial setup and not the whole catering process.
